1867년(게이오 3년) 아이치현 하즈군 잇시키초에서 밀 전분과 밀 글루텐 생산을 시작한 이래, 당사는 고품질 전분 생산을 위한 노력을 멈추지 않았습니다. 1955년(쇼와 30년)에는 옥수수 전분을 생산하는 독자적인 기술을 개발하여 이 기술을 산업화하는 데 성공했습니다. 2017년에는 창립 150주년을 맞았습니다.
창립 150주년을 맞이한 같은 해에 당사는 업무연속성계획(BCP) 조치의 일환으로 일리노이 대학교 어바나 샴페인 캠퍼스(UIUC) 감독 하에 세계에서 가장 앞선 도쿄 공장(이바라키현 가미스시)을 완공함으로써 장기 목표였던 2공장 체제 구축을 달성했습니다.
당사는 전분 생산을 통해 어떻게 사회에 공헌할 수 있을지, 어떻게 하면 전분을 통해 사회의 다양한 어려움을 해결할 수 있을지 항상 고민하고 원칙에 충실한 가운데 앞으로 나아가고자 합니다.
창립 200주년을 앞둔 지금, 당사는 단순한 상품이 아니라 ‘전분은 살아있는 것’이라는 신념 아래 무한한 가능성을 추구하며, 옥수수 산업을 선도하는 일본 기업으로서 세계가 요구하는 신제품을 지속적으로 선보일 것입니다.
Since we started the production of wheat starch and wheat gluten in Isshiki-cho, Hazu County, Aichi Prefecture in 1867, we have never stopped working hard to produce starch. In 1955, we developed a unique technology to produce corn starch and succeeded in industrializing the technology. We celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2017.
In the same year, we achieved the establishment of a two-plant system, which had been our long-cherished goal, by completing our globally cutting-edge Tokyo plant (Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture) as part of our BCP measures under the supervision of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
We will continue to move forward, constantly considering ways in which our company can contribute to society through starch and ways in which we can help resolve various societal difficulties through starch while staying faithful to our principles.
As we look forward to the 200th anniversary of our company, we will persue infinite possibilities through our belief that “starch is a living thing,” not simply a commodity, and continue to introduce new products that are in demand worldwide as a leading Japanese company in the corn industry.
