  • Why did you select to be a translator?Why did you select to be a translator? I wanted to be translator because I wanted to apply my English skill which is my advantage and to be able to choose the work which I can do at home.

I learned English as a school curriculum since the upper grade of elementary school. In third grade of junior high school, I joined a 3-week program in the United States. In second grade of high school, I studied in the United States for a year. After high school, I entered Kansai Gaidai University and majored in English. After university, I transferred to Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I studied English. After graduation, I have been living in the United States until now and have been engaged in translation work.
  • How are you able to maintain and improve your English skills?How are you able to maintain and improve your English skills? Since I am living in the Unites States, I necessarily communicate in English and it is an essential part of my daily life. To improve my English ability further, I read English books, newspapers, or news on the internet.
  • What type of translator do you want to be?What type of translator do you want to be? I want to be capable of dealing with a wide range of translation fields in the future, although I have experience only in the field of medicine until now.
  • What is the most interesting point you have come across while translating documents?What is the most interesting point you have come across while translating documents? Although translation is a process of transferring thoughts from one language into another, I can acquire a great deal of knowledge through the process. That is why I think translation is very challenging and rewarding, and furthermore, instructive. To me, translation is a kind of task which brings many accomplishments.
  • What is your most remarkable translation ever done?What is your most remarkable translation ever done? Assignments with a huge volume of words or characters such as translation of a book are the most challenging, i.e., the most remarkable tasks for me.
